About this trip

You leave Dahab late in the evening and climb Mount Sinai (Mount Moses, 2,285 metres) in the dark with a Bedouin guide and a light. At the summit you watch the sun rise over the mountains of South Sinai.

On the way down you pass St Catherine's Monastery at the foot of the mountain, one of the oldest working monasteries in the world.

It is cold at the top, even in summer. Bring warm layers. You also need a full Egypt visa: the free Sinai-only stamp does not cover St Catherine.
